Open Call for the 10th International Photography Festival
PHOTO IS:RAEL invites artists to submit proposals for the central exhibition of the 10th International Photography Festival, November 2022.
The International Photography Festival is the biggest photography event in Israel and will mark its tenth anniversary in November. The festival is an anticipated fixture in the country’s annual cultural calendar and welcomes tens of thousands of visitors every year. The two-week event presents the work of over 200 leading Israeli and international photographers.
We invite Artists working with photography, video, performance and multimedia, and interdisciplinary artists from around the world and at different stages of their career to submit their existing works, or proposals for new work on this year's theme:
ACTION
For the upcoming festival, we are looking for proposals that tackle the concept of ACTION from multiple perspectives that relate to actions of all kinds – from planning to mobilization, from a call for action to collaborations and the spaces in which they will unfold, and finally, the realization of the artistic action or action in public space. We will examine how a human action can generate discourse or how an individual's action can have a wide influence.
Most importantly, through this call for proposals, we encourage freedom of action with no conditions or rules.
20 artists will be invited to present their work in the festival’s central exhibition, and will also exhibit their works at additional festivals around the world.
A jury of leading experts spanning a wide range of artistic genres will review the open call submissions and select the exhibiting artists.
The artistic committee will review the proposals anonymously to ensure an equal opportunity for everyone, irrespective of where they come from, age or education.
