Tükör a falon / Ujj Zsuzsi kiállításmegnyitó
A magyar underground ikonikus alakja, a Csókolom zenekar alapító-énekeseként is ismert Ujj Zsuzsi fotóperformanszaival teremtett egyéni, radikális vizuális nyelvet. Képei a női lét, a szexualitás, elnyomott érzelmek nyers, mégis lírai vallomásai.

A defining figure of the Hungarian underground scene, Zsuzsi Ujj—also known as the founding singer of the band Csókolom—created a singular, radical visual language through her photo-performances. The series Mirror on the Wall and other works in the exhibition evoke her black-and-white portraits made between 1985 and 1991. These self-portraits are not merely documentary records, as the artist also used her own body, marked with paint, as a medium.
Her images are raw yet lyrical confessions on femininity, sexuality, and repressed emotions. The exhibition highlights the close unity of her musical and visual practice: her photographs and poems convey the same unflinching—at times ironic and painful—encounter with the self. The exhibition offers insight into a body of work that began in Veszprém and, decades later, became an acknowledged part of international contemporary art.
